SmartTube beta is the experimental branch of this alternative YouTube player that has been especially designed for large-screen Android devices and Smart TVs with Android operating systems. With this completely free and open source app, you can watch all YouTube videos without ads or interruptions, and with some additional features like SponsorBlock, which allows you to automatically hide all sponsored segments within videos.

Unlike other alternative YouTube clients, SmartTube beta is optimized for Smart TVs and TV Boxes, so it supports resolutions up to 8K. The interface, which is very similar to the official client, is very simple and easy to use. The search bar is found at the top of the screen and a section of recommended videos based on your preferences will be displayed just below. You can filter and sort the search results according to different criteria, such as length, date or type of content.

The SmartTube beta interface gives you a range of customization options when playing any video. As mentioned above, the app supports 8K video, but also 60 FPS and HDR playback. From the app you can also access the live chat and modify the playback speed as desired, with more options than the official client.
